RATING Agency of Malaysia (RAM) believes the operating landscape of the telecommunications sector in the coming year will be shaped by three main factors, which include the successful merger between Celcom Malaysia Bhd and TM Cellular Sdn Bhd.

In the May issue of RAM Focus, the agency said the seamless integration of the two operations and the subsequent refocusing of the merged Celcom-TM Cellular entity would introduce a new level of competition in the industry.
