TOKYO: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT) posted a return to annual profit yesterday, putting the previous year’s record loss behind it but reporting a drop in sales for the first time in its 50-year history.
NTT, the world’s largest telecoms group by revenue, said sales dipped 0.9% in the year to March 31, hit by dwindling voice traffic on its fixed-line network as customers switched to mobile phones or cheaper Internet-based calling.
