SIEMENS Transportation Systems Group (TS) has taken over the 179km Rawang-Ipoh double-tracking and electrification rail project from the consortium which it was originally a part of and which included Bombardier Transportation and Balfour Beatty.
With the takeover, Balfour Beatty, the supplier of electrification components for the project, and Bombardier Transportation are no longer involved, according to a source close to the company.
