SEOUL: SK Telecom Co, South Korea’s biggest mobile carrier, unveiled better-than-expected first-quarter earnings yesterday as an increase in subscribers offset a cut in mobile charges.
The company, which controls more than half of Asia’s third largest mobile market, said its subscribers rose 2.5% in number during the first three months of 2003 to 17.6 million, thanks to aggressive marketing.
