LOCAL brokers have been advised to back down from a proposal to charge their foreign clients a minimum rate of 0.125% for interbroke trades in line with the aim of enhancing Malaysia's attractiveness to investors.
At the moment, there are local brokerages that charge very competitive interbroke rates, and setting a minimum rate could imply that they have to increase those charges.
