SHANGHAI: Japan’s Nissan Motor Co Ltd has launched its maiden locally made sedan for China, kick-starting an ambitious US$1bil expansion into one of the world’s fastest growing and hotly contested car markets.
Rival Honda Motor Co also unveiled at the weekend its Fit saloon aimed at the same lower income buyers the Nissan Sunny will go after – a market segment, analysts say, is the most intensely fought-over right now.
