Singapore contract chipmaker Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd reported yesterday another quarterly loss, but said sales looked strong for the next three months, signalling temporary relief for the battered industry.
The results, which met analysts’ expectations, came after larger rivals Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd and United Microelectronics Corp announced surprisingly strong March sales on new products and outsourcing business.
