CHICAGO: Motorola Inc, riding a continued modest recovery in its cell phone business, has turned in a US$169mil profit for its first quarter its third straight quarter in the black after a two-year slide.
The firm's net earnings for the quarter stood to 7 US cents a share, versus a net loss a year ago of US$449mil, or 20 cents a share.
