THE Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January to March 2003 increased by 1.4% to 104.1 compared with 102.7 in the same period last year, the Department of Statistics said yesterday.
Releasing the March CPI figures, the department said the 1.4% increase in the price index was brought about by increases observed in the indices of all main groups except those of clothing and footwear, which decreased by 2.3% and furniture, furnishings and household equipment and operation, which went down by 0.5%.
