Patimas Computers president dies at 41

PATIMAS Computers Bhd president Datuk Cheah Jin Boon passed away in a tragic road accident while riding in a motorcycle convoy to Phuket, Thailand, last Friday. 

He left behind his wife Datin Bee Wah and two sons. He was 41 years old. 

The company's managing director Datuk Raymond Yap would be assuming Cheah's responsibilities with immediate effect.

Cheah, who held a 4.7% stake in Patimas, came on board about two years ago when Patimas acquired HPD Systems Sdn Bhd, in which he was the co-owner. 

Educated in the US for six years, he graduated with honours from the University of Arkansas, majoring in computer science. 

Listed on the KLSE main board under the technology sector since late 1997, the Patimas group's principal activities include investment holding, the management of subsidiary companies and the provision of computer equipment for rental. 

Its subsidiaries are Automatic Identification Technology Sdn Bhd, EIX Solutions Sdn Bhd, GMH Services (MSC) Sdn Bhd, HPD Systems Sdn Bhd, OED Technology Sdn Bhd and SED Technology Sdn Bhd.
