Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton) chief executive officer Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Ariff was his usual affable self, joking and laughing as he lunched with a group of journalists at a posh restaurant in Damansara Heights yesterday. Despite the gruelling two-hour session, he refused to budge on when Proton would be introducing its new model. He kept saying there would be many cars every year and that the Iswarahatchback was enjoying brisksales. Following are the excerpts of the Q&A 

Q: How do you envision Proton in 2005? Do you see rationalisation of vendors and we continuing to buying out of Thailand?
