THE allocation for the long-awaited stimulus package, aimed at shielding the economy from the impact of the Iraq war and the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), is likely to be higher than expected, sources said.
According to the sources, there is now talk that the government would announce additional spending of RM5bil, compared with previous estimates of RM1.5bil to RM3bil, to help the country achieve the 4.5% gross domestic product target for this year.
