NEC Computers International BV has transferred its notebook resea-rch and development (R&D) centre from France to Penang effective January to handle the Asia-Pacific (excluding China and Japan) and Europe markets in terms of software and hardware requirements.
A subsidiary of Japan's NEC Corp, NEC Computers has begun to hire 58 local engineers who would be operating from its unit NEC Computers Malaysia Sdn Bhd's factory at the Bukit Tengah industrial park in Seberang Prai.
