NEW YORK: US airline losses could double this year to some US$13bil in the event of a prolonged war with Iraq, threatening the industry with further bankruptcies, analysts said.
A war would hit international air travel, already decimated following the terrorist attacks of 2001 in the US, push up fuel prices as well as insurance and security costs, they pointed out.
