PERNAS International Holdings Bhd (PIHB) aims to reduce the group's total debt from RM2.5bil to RM1bil by the third quarter of this year by disposing of some non-core assets, according to its chairman Datuk Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas.

“Our restructuring is ongoing and part of it involves reducing the group's bank interest,” he told reporters after the soft launch of the Mutiara Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The hotel was formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Hilton.
