LONDON: Shareholders of Six Continents have given their backing to the management's plan to split the business in two, enabling the world's biggest hotelier to win its battle with hostile bidder Hugh Osmond.
At an eventful meeting on Wednesday, shareholders first voted down Osmond’s call to postpone the session and then backed the management’s plan to separate Six Continents’ InterContinental and Holiday Inn hotels from its restaurant and bar interests.
