HONG KONG: Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa has warned of possible new rises in taxes and fees to bridge the budget deficit but ruled out the introduction of any sales tax during the rest of his term, according to local media reports.
“It won’t happen in the next four years,” Tung said during a briefing for local reporters, referring to the sales tax.
