PARIS: Debt-laden Vivendi Universal has posted the biggest loss in French corporate history and confirmed it is in talks to ditch its US show business assets as part of its turnaround efforts.
The French-American media group reported a 2002 net loss of 23.3 billion euros (US$25.6bil) on Thursday after a hefty 18.4 billion euros write-down, far exceeding forecasts for 13.1 billion euros loss.
