LONDON: Six Continents plc, standing firm in the face of a £5.5bil hostile bid, has rejected calls to delay a shareholders' vote on the planned separation of its hotels and pubs businesses.
Entrepreneur Hugh Osmond, who tabled an audacious all-share bid for Six Continents on Monday, had wanted next Wednesday’s vote on the demerger proposal delayed to give him more time to find partners for his own plans to break up the owner of InterContinental hotels and All Bar One pubs.
