Telekom signs pact to market non-life insurance product

Telekom Malaysia Bhd, AXA Affin Assurance Bhd and PPG Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd have signed an agreement to market a non-life insurance product to the former's fixed-line residential customers. 

Under the agreement, the product design, development and marketing will be directly managed by PPG while AXA will be responsible for marketing and operational costs and non-life insurance products. 

Telekom said in a statement yesterday that it would endorse all customer database, product bundling and marketing campaigns. 

According to Telekom, this brand new product will be offered via direct mail, which will include free three months' insurance products such as personal accident or hospitalisation cash. 

Telekom customers will also be contacted by telephone to ascertain their satisfaction with the product and be offered the opportunity to convert the free policy into a fully premium paid policy. 

Telekom said these non-life insurance products would not only be exclusive to these customers, but also priced at a premium amount to suit everyone's pocket. 

AXA is a local joint venture between French global insurance giant AXA Group and Affin Holdings Bhd, while PPG is the local subsidiary of a direct marketing consultancy, with its head office in Hong Kong and clients across the Asia-Pacific region. – Bernama
