Time to adopt indigenous design

IT IS time Malaysian manufacturers adopt indigenous product design rather than continue to depend on foreign designs. 

They could only become more competitive against their counterparts in the neighbouring countries by designing and manufacturing products locally, and outselling competitors through better quality and lowering pricing on similar competitive products, said Loo Hwai Sheng, IBM Malaysia's product lifecycle management manager.
