Philippine shares end lower Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine shares ended lower Wednesday on heightened security concerns following a bomb blast at a southern Phillippine airport that killed 21 people and injured 148 others, traders said. 

The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index ended down 16.31 points, or 1.6 percent, at 1009.68, after rising 0.1 percent Tuesday.
