Star Cruises records net earnings of US$73.1mil

Star Cruises group, an associate of Genting Bhd, recorded a net income of US$73.1mil for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2002, compared with a loss of US$8.4mil the previous year. 

“The full-year result was achieved on the back of a 13.5% capacity increase despite a net yield decline of 1.7%,” a statement said yesterday. “The group’s revenue for 2002 was US$1.57bil, up 13.9% from US$1.38bil in the previous year.”
