  • THE Maybank group has appointed Amin Rafie Othman as chief executive officer of Mayban Investment Management. With the appointment, he will also serve as a member of the company's board of directors. 

    Amin started his career with Malaysian Transnational Trading Corp Bhd where he rose to become the general manager before leaving in 1994.  

    He then joined Rashid Hussain Asset Management Sdn Bhd (RHAM) as general manager and was subsequently promoted to senior general manager and appointed to the board of directors.  

    He left RHAM in 1999 to join Smith Zain Securities as executive director and head of sales. 

    Prior to joining Mayban Investment, he was managing director of asset management with PJB Pacific Capital Group. 

    Amin graduated in Magna Cum Laude from the University College of Wales Aberystwyth with a joint honours degrees in economics and international politics. He also has a masters degree in business administration from the City University of London. 

  • NV Multi Corp Bhd has appointed insurance veteran Tan Tiam Chai as its new chief executive officer. 

    Tan was formerly the senior vice-president of a leading foreign-based insurance company in Malaysia and was in charge of the company's agency network and business development programme.  

  • Sutera Harbour Resort has appointed Monica Gayondato as senior vice-president of revenue and business development.  

    Gayondato has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry with international hotel chains in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.  

    Among her most commendable achievements over the past 10 years is her contribution towards destination marketing in the countries that she has worked in.
