Murphy Oil GM is now vice-president

MURPHY Oil Corp's Malaysian operations general manager, George M. Shirley, has been elevated to vice-president and general manager, Malaysia. He would continue to report to Murphy Exploration and Production Co international president David M. Wood. 

Shirley joined Murphy in October 1979 as a landman and was promoted to manager, land and legal, in 1983 and then to land general manager in 1995. He became the general manager, negotiations and new business development, in 1997, and named general manager, Malaysia, and relocated to Kuala Lumpur in 1999.
