KOTA Minerals & Chemicals Sdn Bhd (KMC), which provides specialised services to the oil and gas industry, expects its maiden venture in Sudan, North Africa, to kick off with business volumes of RM15mil to RM20mil a year, its chief executive officer Shah Hakim Zain said.

Hakim said KMC's penetration into Sudan was part of the company's expansion into foreign markets, a process that will now be made easier by the company having been awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) AS Sdn Bhd, an independent verifying body.
