  • NORTHPORT (M) Bhd has appointed its human resource and organisational development general manager Mohd Haris Ab. Aziz as its new deputy chief executive officer, replacing Abd. Hamid Baba who retired last year. 

    Haris, 46, joined Northport in 1991 as personnel manager. Previously with Nestle, Fraser & Neave, Mattel and Malaysian Oxygen, he holds a MBA degree from Glasgow's University of Strathclyde.  

    The company has also appointed Paul Finley as its operations development/research advisor.  

    Finley, who joined the company last November, will be concentrating on the development of IT and technological applications, operational research and strategy. 

    An Australian, Finley has 16 years' experience in the port industry's operations & IT. 

  • LOCAL Internet pioneer and e-business specialist Skali has promoted Fadhil Halim and Saiful Khairi to senior vice presidents, responsible for the company’s business development and operations. 

    Saiful joined Skali as business manager and was instrumental in securing major e-business projects.  

    Fadhil is the key driver behind Skali’s managed e-business division.  

    He planned, designed and managed the development of the 6,500 sq ft Class A Internet Data Centre (IDC) in year 2000 and turn it into a solid business with more than 500 customers today.
