Ericsson posts Q4 pre-tax loss

STOCKHOLM: Telefon AB LM Ericsson, the world’s biggest producer of mobile telephone networks, reported a wider-than-expected 4th-quarter loss yesterday, but said its business was beginning to stabilise.

For the final quarter of 2002, the company posted an adjusted pre-tax loss of 2.2 billion crowns (US$256.3mil) against the consensus estimate of 1.5 billion. The figure was, however, narrower than the 3rd-quarter loss of 3.9 billion crowns and the year-earlier loss of 5.1 billion.
