Mier: Consumers glad with rising purchasing power

THE Malaysian Institute of Economic Research's (Mier) latest consumer sentiments survey showed that consumers felt pretty chirpy lately with rising purchasing power. 

The Mier's Consumer Sentiments Index (CSI) for the 4th quarter 2002 jumped to 112.8 points from 108.9 in the third quarter and 93.8 a year ago.
