PETALING JAYA: Chinese New Year shopping is expected to heat up towards the end of the month with retailers expecting monthly sales to increase between 15% and 20%, Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association president Datuk Dr Chin See Keat said.
“Currently, the rush for festive buying is slow as Chinese New Year falls early next month. Most would wait till the end of this month to buy after getting their bonuses and salaries,” he said.
