MELBOURNE: A Malaysian consortium, comprising Sime Darby, Tenaga Nasional and the Genting Group, is the likely buyer of the Loy Yang power station in the state of Victoria, which is expected to fetch A$4bil, according to a report in The Age newspaper.
The Victoria government sold Loy Yang to the US-based CMS Energy Corp, NRG Energy and Horizon Energy Investment Group in 1997.
