SAN FRANCISCO: Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD), the world's No. 2 maker of microprocessors, has reported a bigger fourth-quarter net loss than a year earlier after taking a charge related to layoffs stemming from the chip industrys worst downturn ever.
And like arch-rival Intel Corp earlier in the week, AMD said it would lower capital spending in 2003.
