NATIONAL motorcycle maker Moto-sikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) expects to increase its share of the local motorcycle market from 40% to 45% this year, thanks to a surge of interest in the first national 125cc scooter Karisma, which was launched in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Nik Danial Mahmood, the chief executive officer of the Modenas sales arm Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), said that total sales of Modenas motorcycles sho-uld rise to RM400mil this year and RM450mil next year.
