HYATT Regency Saujana has appointed Alexander Jovanovic as its general manager, Adam Simkins as director of food and beverages Dieter Bender as executive chef and Aaishah Bohari as director of marketing.  

Jovanovic started his career in the hotel industry with Sheraton in 1983 before joining Hyatt in 1988. With nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he has opened 7 international hotels in Australia, Japan and China. 

Prior to coming to Malaysia, he was resident manager of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 

Simkins, meanwhile, started out by opening bars in Tokyo and joined Hyatt International after finishing his studies in leisure and food management. 

His stint with Hyatt International has taken him to Saipan, Hong Kong, China and Bali. 

Simkins, who had lived in Kuala Lumpur during his younger days, can communicate in Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Chinese and English. 

Bender, the longest-serving executive chef at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, joins Hyatt Regency Saujana from Hyatt Sanctuary Cove, Queensland. He has also previously served in various locations within Asia-Pacific, namely Dubai, Seoul, Fiji and Macau.  

Aaishah has over 10 years' experience in the hotel industry. The Hawaii Pacific University graduate started her career with Hyatt in Kota Kinabalu and Kuantan and worked at the Hilton Hotels for 5 years before taking up the current position at Hyatt Regency Saujana.  

SHERATON Imperial Kuala Lumpur has appointed Cindy Yoong as its director of communications and Danny Goh as director of sales. 

Yoong has 10 years' experience in the hospitality industry. 

Armed with a degree in hotel catering and management from the Academie de Grenoble, France, she first started her public relations career in Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya. 

As communications director, she would be responsible for the overall communications channels in the hotel besides developing strategies to enhance and uplift Sheraton Imperial’s image. 

With more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, Goh is considered a veteran in this field. In his new capacity, Goh is responsible to achieve the hotel’s sales targets and to grow the corporate and MICE market segment. 

THE Malaysian Association of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators has re-elected Paul W Chan as its president for the year 2003 at its new council’s first meeting.  

Maicsa said Jeremie Ting Keng Fui was re-elected as deputy president and Muhamad Hafidz Nuruddin as vice president.
