Top Glove wants to buy Aspion for RM1.3bil to boost profits

SHAH ALAM: Top Glove Corp Bhd says the plan to buy surgical glove maker Aspion Sdn Bhd for at least RM1.3bil will boost the group’s profits by a fifth in the financial year ending Aug 31, 2018 (FY18) and accelerate the group’s expansion into the highly lucrative segment of the market.

Near-term headwinds persist for Sapura Energy despite job wins

PETALING JAYA: The recent RM1.47bil worth of contracts secured by Sapura Energy Bhd’s units may have sparked some optimism for the oil and gas firm since the exit of second-largest shareholder Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, but this is not reflected in several research reports, as near-term headwinds still persist.

UOB Kay Hian Research kept a “sell” call on Sapura Energy with a target price of RM1.32 despite the job wins, stating that it formed part of the house’s orderbook replenishment assumption.

Axis REIT inks deal with MAHB

PETALING JAYA: Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), via its trustee RHB Trustees Bhd, has inked a sub-lease agreement with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) for the proposed land lease and construction of a manufacturing plant-cum-office building at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor.

Under the proposed land lease agreement, the 7.02-acre project land, which is vacant and located within the proposed Malaysia International Aerospace Centre Technology Park at the airport, will be leased out to Upeca at an intial sub-lease period of 30 years, with an automatic renewal and/or extension for a further 19 years up to Dec 30, 2066.
