GUH to launch township project

GEORGE TOWN: GUH Holdings Bhd plans to launch a mixed-development township project in Simpang Ampat on 46-acre.

Group managing director Datuk Kenneth H’ng(pic) told StarBiz at an AGM here that the master plan of the project was being fine-tuned and would be ready soon.

NTPM to spend RM50mil on expansion

GEORGE TOWN: NTPM Holdings Bhd, the manufacturer of Premier tissue paper, is spending RM50mil to expand its manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and Penang this year.

Group managing director Lee See Jin(filepic) told StarBiz that the expansion would increase the group’s total production capacity to 170,000 tonnes per year from 110,000 tonnes.

New Sime facility to produce 10,000 BMW engines a year

KULIM: The new RM132mil Sime Darby Auto Engineering (SDAE) facility here will produce 10,000 BMW engines per annum to cater to the growing demand for locally assembled vehicles with innovative capabilities in engine assembly technology.

Sime Darby Motors (Malaysia/Thailand/Taiwan) managing director Dennis Ho said that the 10,000 units were the product of a single shift.  “Should we go on two shifts, the volume would double to 20,000. Currently, the plant is operating on a single shift."

Texchem allocates RM40m to expand 3 divisions

GEORGE TOWN: Texchem Resources Bhd will spend RM40mil to expand its restaurant, industrial and food businesses this year.
