Briefing in Brunei highlights scam risks, prevention measures

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Ninety officers and staff members of the Public Works Department attended a briefing on ‘Cybercrime (Online Scams and the Importance of Practising Vigilance on Social Media Platforms)’ at Atria Simpur Hall of the Public Works Department Headquarters Building on Saturday (Feb 7).

Organised by the Human Resource Development Division of the Administration and Finance Department at the Public Works Department, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department, the briefing forms part of a series of awareness campaigns for department employees.

Officer of the Cyber Research and Development Unit, Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Royal Brunei Police Force Chief Inspector Adinin Ahmad delivered the briefing.

The initiative aimed to enhance awareness and vigilance against online crime by educating the participants on common scam modus operandi, personal data security, and ways to reduce the risk of becoming victims. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
