Water disruptions continue in Brunei-Muara district as Batang Mitus pipe repairs hit 40 per cent

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Repair works on the main water pipes at Kampong Batang Mitus, damaged by recent landslides, have reached 40 per cent completion Friday (Jan 30) morning, according to the Public Works Department (PWD).

In an update posted on its official social media page this morning, PWD said the fourth out of 16 pipes had been successfully installed as of 6.35am on Friday.

The emergency repair works have resulted in water supply disruptions across large parts of the Brunei-Muara District since Thursday.

Affected areas include Mukim Berakas ‘A’ and ‘B’, Mukim Gadong ‘A’ and ‘B’, Mukim Kota Batu, Mukim Kilanas, Mukim Kianggeh and Mukim Pengkalan Batu.

PWD said repair efforts are ongoing and the public is advised to stay updated through official channels for further announcements on the restoration of water supply. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
