BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Department of Curriculum Development, Ministry of Education, and the Curriculum Division of the Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Syllabus and Assessment Working Committee for the Integration of Islamic Subjects into the General Education System, continued its socialisation session for the new Year 3 Islamic Education Curriculum Monday morning (Nov 24).
The session was held for Islamic studies teachers from private schools, aimed at strengthening the quality of teaching and learning of Islamic education across schools, by providing early exposure for private school Islamic studies teachers regarding the structure and objectives of the new curriculum, as well as the teaching strategies.
The session also served as a platform for discussion and sharing of best practices to ensure smooth and effective implementation in classrooms. The new curriculum aligns with the government’s aspiration to provide learning that is more contextual, interactive and easy to understand, while shaping stronger religious understanding and positive moral values among students.

Other key features include experience-based reinforcement activities, utilising practical exercises, group activities and value-application tasks to encourage active and meaningful learning, while aligning with the National Curriculum and Policies, ensuring cohesion between curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
