Belarusian president Lukashenko planning rare visit to Myanmar

YANGON: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko (pic) will soon visit Myanmar, his first trip to the country and the first by a European leader since the military seized power in 2021.

Junta chief Min Aung Hlaing invited Lukashenko for the visit that will take place "in the near future,” the ruling National Defence and Security Council said in a statement Tuesday (Nov 25). Both sides have yet to announce exact dates, citing security reasons.
