Large quantities of drugs and weapons seized in Myanmar in 347 drug cases and 86 weapons cases


YANGON: A large number of drugs and ammunition were seized in Myawady Township from 2021 to October 31, 2025, in 347 drug cases and 86 cases under the Weapons Law.

In Myawady Township, Kayin State, from 2021 to October 31, 2025, there were 256 cases under the Counter-Terrorism Law, 347 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and 86 cases under the Weapons Law were taken action.

The seized weapons, ammunition, related items and drugs were transported and sold by Thai traders through illegally opened border gates along the Thaungyin River by armed groups.

In terms of drug seizures, between 2021 and October 31, 2025, 325 cases of WY pills (totaling 2,578,961 pills), nine cases of ICE (weighing 4,908.9471 grams), seven cases of heroin (weighing 281,304 grams), 19 cases of ketamine (weighing 3,573.3225 grams), 31 cases of marijuana (weighing 18,551.7171 grams), 972 ecstasy pills, two seizures of Tramadol capsules (totaling 60,030 capsules) and five seizures of ammonium nitrite (weighing approximately 11,825.159 kilograms).

In addition, 48 9mm pistols, 12 AK-47 rifles, six M-4 carbines, two nine-round guns, one AK-15 rifle, three 12-volt guns, two 12-volt guns, two revolvers, one 9mm AK rifle, one M-16 gun, one.303 rifle, one.30 carbine, one homemade gun, one homemade machine gun and one homemade RPG were seized as weapons and related items.

Similarly, 60.30 carbine cartridges, 17.56 cartridges, 29 nine-round cartridges, 87 AK-15 cartridges, 64 AK-47 cartridges, 2,082 rounds of 9mm ammunition (pistol), 217 rounds of.380 ammunition, 750 rounds of.357 ammunition, 750 rounds of.38 ammunition, 50 rounds of 7.65 ammunition, 500 rounds of M-16 ammunition, two rounds of.73 caliber ammunition, 200 rounds of M-4 ammunition, 100 rounds of MK-12 ammunition, 200 rounds of.357 ammunition, two rounds of.38 Special ammunition and two rounds of 7.62 ammunition were seized.

Also seized were three RPG grenades, 17 improvised hand grenades, two improvised mines, five 40mm rockets, five rifle grenades, 20 40mm grenades, 300 detonators, eight hand grenades, two nine-round magazines, seven AK-15 magazines, 13 AK-47 magazines, 52 9mm magazines (pistol), nine 12-volt cartridges, 17 M-4 cartridges, 17 assorted cartridges, one.380 cartridge, one M-12 cartridge and four MA cartridges. - Eleven Media/ANN
