US imposes sanctions on armed separatist group over scams


THE United States has announced that it is imposing sanctions on one of the nation’s armed group – alongside four of its ­senior leaders – accusing them of supporting cyberscam centres that target Americans.

The action took aim at the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA), alongside companies Trans Asia and Troth Star, for their alleged roles in helping to develop these scam centres, the US Treasury Department said.
