KUALA LUMPUR: As Malaysia will be hosting the Asean Summit 2025, homegrown edutech platform MyTutor.my is stepping into the regional spotlight with its latest initiative, The EduGig Movement, a campaign designed to redefine how education and the gig economy grow together across South-East Asia.
According to Managing Director Mohd Hafiz Kamaruddin, MyTutor.my, Malaysia’s largest one-to-one tutoring platform, bridges the gap between tutors and students by offering both home-based and online learning sessions.
The platform combines AI-driven management tools, structured tutor development programmes, and an integrated digital learning ecosystem to create high-quality, personalised learning experiences.
With plans to expand into Brunei and Indonesia, MyTutor.my is positioning Malaysia’s tutoring model as a scalable, borderless, and investable education ecosystem, one that showcases the country’s potential in exporting innovative education solutions to the region.
Recently, MyTutor.my was invited by SOCSO (Social Security Organisation) to represent the education gig sector during the Engagement Session on the Implementation of the Gig Workers Bill with Platform Providers.
Mohd Hafiz said the company’s involvement reflects its strong commitment to shaping the future of gig-based education in Malaysia, while advocating for greater recognition and protection for tutors who are part of the fast-growing digital economy.
Guided by the belief that “One-to-One Tutoring, One Nation Thriving,” MyTutor.my continues to evolve beyond being just another edutech platform.
“We see ourselves as part of a national movement, one that empowers tutors, improves student outcomes, and helps position Malaysia as a regional leader in hybrid tutoring and education innovation across Asean,” Mohd Hafiz added.
