BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei Darussalam has welcomed the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, commending the leadership of US President Donald J. Trump through his “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.”

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brunei expressed its appreciation for the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkiye in facilitating the agreement.

Brunei urged all parties involved to abide by the terms of the ceasefire and faithfully implement the agreement. The ministry highlighted that full compliance should lead to a permanent ceasefire, the mutual release of detainees, immediate and safe delivery of humanitarian assistance, protection of the rights of Palestinians in their homeland, and the creation of conditions conducive to the reconstruction of Gaza.

“Brunei Darussalam reaffirms its steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and supports the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on a two-State solution, with pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital,” the statement added. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
