Brunei honours pharmacists as unsung heroes

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The work of pharmacists is more than a profession – it is a dedication to health and wellbeing. Every day, pharmacists work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure seamless delivery of healthcare, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) Pharmacy Manager Stephanie Lee said.

Behind every medication received is a team of dedicated professionals who carefully prepare, check and counsel, ensuring safety, accuracy and care for every patient. A pharmacy is more than pills and prescriptions. It embodies wellness, prevention and care.

Pharmacists are educators, counsellors, and advocates, guiding through health journeys with expertise and compassion, she said when emphasising the vital role of pharmacy in advancing health and well-being at the World Pharmacy Day 2025 on Monday (Oct 13).

She added, “Amid today’s healthcare challenges, this often unseen workforce forms the backbone of quality care, empowering communities to take charge of their health. As we celebrate today, let us honour all pharmacy professionals whose dedication truly makes a difference. Because when we think of pharmacy, we think of health.”

Themed ‘Think Health, Think Pharmacy’, World Pharmacy Day serves as a reminder of the indispensable contributions of pharmacists and pharmacy teams in ensuring safe, effective and accessible healthcare for all.
