Hong Kong woman, 53, found dead with neck wound in public park

A Hong Kong woman has been found dead with a neck wound in a public park, with police locating a knife and a cutter nearby and later classifying the case as suicide.

The force received a report at around 5am on Wednesday from a passer-by, who saw a woman bleeding on the ground in Tin Shui Wai Park near Tin Shui Road.

The 53-year-old woman was certified dead at the scene after officers found a 10cm (3.9 inch) long wound on her neck. A knife and a cutter were found nearby.

Officers cordoned off the scene around a bench. The deceased was seen with her shirt covered in blood.

Following a preliminary investigation, the force said it believed she had killed herself, but no suicide note was found at the scene.
