Myanmar and Timor-Leste hold bilateral talks to promote relations


YANGON: Timor-Leste’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Bendito dos Santos Freitas, paid a working visit to Myanmar from 17 to 19 September 2025.

On 18 September, he held talks with Myanmar’s Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, U Than Swe, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw. The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and emphasised the importance of upholding Asean’s core principles and the Asean Charter, particularly the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of member states.
