Brunei steps up fight against online scams, digital fraud


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) is intensifying efforts to combat online scams and digital fraud through close cooperation with multiple agencies, including the operation of an anti-scam centre, a government minister said Monday (Sept 15).

The Royal Brunei Police Force last month launched its anti-scam helpline to provide first-line assistance for victims or anyone suspecting they have been scammed, Shamhary Mustapha, minister of transport and infocommunications and the minister in charge of cybersecurity, said at the launch of Brunei's cybersecurity conference and exhibition near the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.
