SINGAPORE: A police officer allegedly committed a range of offences including misappropriating four police vehicles on 14 occasions and taking money that was entrusted to him.

Aris Rizki Nasmi, 42, is accused of committing most of his offences at the Police Cantonment Complex.

On Wednesday (Sept 10), he was handed eight charges for offences including theft and criminal breach of trust.

The Straits Times has contacted the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to find out his current employment status with the agency.

Court documents stated that Aris was at the Police Cantonment Complex between Nov 21, 2023, and July 8, 2024, when he allegedly misappropriated more than $985.

Between May 9 and 13, 2024, he also allegedly misappropriated two cash cards belonging to SPF, containing around $4 in total.

Aris is accused of misappropriating the four police vehicles over 14 occasions at the complex between Feb 16 and May 14, 2024. Within that time, he allegedly stole two of the vehicles.

Court documents did not disclose what kind of vehicles were involved in these charges.

He is also said to have stolen a police motor vehicle log book at the Police Cantonment Complex on May 14 that year.

His case will be mentioned again in court on Oct 8.

If convicted of criminal breach of trust, he can be jailed for up to 20 years and fined. - The Straits Times/ANN
