Indonesia extends search for missing ferry mishap victims near Bali Island to July 14; death toll now at 17


BANYUWANGI, East Java (Bernama-ANTARA): Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) on Friday evening announced a second three-day extension of the search operation, starting Saturday, as 18 victims remain missing following the sinking of the Tunu Pratama Jaya ferry on July 2.

Basarnas decided to extend the search period for humanitarian reasons until Monday, July 14, following an initial three-day extension that ended on July 11, the agency’s top officer remarked as reported by ANTARA News Agency.
